Thanks to the strong growth of TVs, notebook computers, tablet computers and public displays, the global shipment of large-size TFT LCD panels has reached a record high, reaching 665 million in 2010; according to DisplaySearch large-size TFT LCD shipments The quarterly report, such rapid growth indicates that the panel industry has recovered from the economic crisis of 2009. David Hsieh, vice president of display and large-scale panel research at DisplaySearch, said: "At the beginning of 2010, DisplaySearch predicted that the large-size TFT-LCD industry will go through two important cycles. This prediction has been confirmed." In the first quarter of 2010, the panel came out. The volume was 156 million pieces, and the second quarter grew to 170 million pieces. At the end of the second quarter, the entire supply chain adjusted inventory levels, resulting in a decline in the price of large-size TFT LCD panels, which reduced the capacity utilization of panel makers. The third quarter panel shipments fell to 162 million. Despite this, with the gradual recovery of the panel industry, panel shipments in the fourth quarter have grown strongly, reaching 176 million.
In the fourth quarter of 2010, LCD TV panel shipments were hovering at 57.5 million units, indicating that the supply chain is still adjusting inventory, and brand owners are not eager to supplement channel demand. DisplaySearch predicts that based on seasonal sales trends, panel shipments in the first quarter of 2011 will be 2% lower than the previous quarter; meanwhile, as panel makers reduce planned shipments, TV panel shipments will drop to 55.6 million. Therefore, at the end of the first quarter of 2011, panel stocks will likely be at a lower water level.
According to the shipments of various manufacturers, LG Display panel shipments ranked first in 2010, with a market share of 25.9%; Samsung followed closely with a market share of 22.9%; AU Optronics (AUO) The market share is 16.8%, and Chimei Innolux has a market share of 16.5%. In terms of shipping area, LG Display is also in the first place, and Samsung is still in the first place in revenue.
