The tube power amplifier, also known as a tube amplifier, utilizes a space amplifier (a vacuum tube) as a power amplifier for the signal amplifier component. It is characterized by large dynamic range, high power, good linearity, soft sound, sweet and delicate, suitable for classical music style. Due to the characteristics of the tube itself, when the signal is too strong, it slowly enters the distortion state (ie, soft distortion), and the human ear is not easy to detect. Even if the signal is distorted, the occasional harmonics are excited, and these harmonics are not degrading to the sound quality. The downside is:
(1) The internal resistance is large and the damping coefficient is small, which affects the transient characteristics of the sound.
(2) High voltage power supply is required, which introduces distortion due to the use of a transformer.
(3) Large size and high price.
