RayMedia Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Alibaba


Light Media announced on May 28 that the company has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Alibaba (China) Co., Ltd. ("Alibaba" for short).

Light Media will rely on a large number of film and television works, artists and other advantages combined with Alibaba's digital entertainment industry, e-commerce platform, and Internet finance to create a new interactive system that integrates traditional media, the Internet, and financial methods to achieve content dissemination. After the expiration of the time limit, if both parties agree to the preliminary cooperation, they may jointly extend the time limit by two years.

RayMedia stated that the company and Alibaba will actively expand the new e-commerce industry model and develop new channels for content distribution. The main cooperation content between the two parties

1, film investment related cooperation. The company has the right to invest 5 or more percent of Alibaba's five film productions each year. Alibaba has the right to invest no less than 5% of the company's five film productions each year (or in the form of entertainment treasures).

2. Make or invest in related cooperation. Within three years from the effective date of this agreement, the company and Alibaba Affiliate Ali Pictures will use their quality resources to cooperate with each other to jointly produce or invest in and issue 5 (tentative) film works.

3, IP-related cooperation. Under the premise that both parties enjoy the relevant IP rights, they will cooperate preferentially with each other under the same conditions as related businesses such as scripts, music, and adaptations.

4. The new media channel distribution cooperation on the Internet. Licensing of OTT rights in movie works for which the company enjoys related rights takes precedence over exclusive cooperation with Alibaba.

5, film and television derivatives sales or priority first cooperation. The company has settled in Tmall to open a flagship store for light media (tentative name) and sells the company's films and derivatives (including some exclusive or first-time content).
