China's graphene market will reach 80 billion yuan!

At present, more than 80 countries in the world have invested in the research and development of graphene materials. Although China started late, it has made remarkable progress. Recently, a report released by the China Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Alliance said that the global graphene market will exceed 100 billion yuan, of which China accounts for 50% to 80%.

Graphene is a new carbon-based material with good optical, electrical, thermal and mechanical properties. It has broad application prospects in the fields of electronic information, new materials, new energy, and biomedicine. Graphene is both the thinnest material and the toughest material, with a breaking strength 200 times higher than the best steel. At the same time, it has good elasticity and can reach 20% of its own size. It is currently the thinnest and strongest material in nature. Of course, it is the most likely and most promising application to become a substitute for silicon, making ultra-micro transistors, so that both the speed and size can be greatly optimized.

At present, more than 80 countries in the world have invested in the research and development of graphene materials, and the United States, Britain, Korea, Japan and Europe have raised the graphene research to a strategic level, expecting it to bring great market value. IBM, Intel, Dow Chemical, GM and other technology giants are involved in related development.

China's graphene research and development started relatively late, but it developed rapidly after 2010. At present, it is involved in major research fields. The overall approach is close to foreign advanced level, and some areas are leading and have mastered independent intellectual property rights. In terms of intellectual property rights, by 2012, the number of Chinese graphene papers exceeded that of the United States, ranking first in the world. According to the 2015 global graphene patent data, the top ranked is still China, followed by the United States, South Korea, and Japan.

A report released by the China Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Alliance recently stated that a considerable number of R&D projects have been successfully completed and entered the commercial preparation period, and the graphene industry is expected to enter the development period of the blowout. At present, the global annual production capacity of graphene has reached 100 tons. The alliance expects that in the next five to ten years, the annual production capacity of graphene will reach 1,000 tons by 2020, and the global graphene market will exceed 100 billion yuan, of which China accounts for More than 50% to 80%, China will play a leading and central role in the global graphene industry.

In the 100 billion market, the market for lithium batteries and supercapacitors in the new energy industry is expected to exceed 53.4 billion yuan. In the flexible display and wearable field of the electronic information industry, the market size will exceed 26.7 billion yuan. In the composite materials market, the market for plastics, rubber, coatings and conductive inks will exceed 37.2 billion yuan. In the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, it will exceed 9 billion yuan. In the field of thermal management, the market scale of electronic product heat-dissipating film, LED heat-dissipating material and graphene heating film will exceed 34.1 billion yuan. In the field of biomedicine, graphene is used in biosafety, nano drug-loading systems, gene therapy, biomonitoring, and bioimaging and diagnostics. The market size will exceed 9.1 billion yuan.
