Molex , the world's leading supplier of complete interconnect products, announces the introduction of a new line of seamless tube metric ring terminals that achieves universal sharing of metric size bolts and screws up to 10mm diameter and up to 6mm ² wire sizes. These are metric screws Ideal for bolt terminations, it can be used in solderless wiring applications in the industrial, automotive and consumer industries. The metric ring terminal has the same features and benefits as the traditional insulated AvikrimpTM and non-insulated VersaKrimpTM solderless ring terminals , including higher current carrying capacity and reliability.

Molex product manager Chip Walsh said: " Molex is introducing metric ring terminal products to meet the needs of customers who use metric screws or bolt sizes and seek a wider selection of more sophisticated fits. Many competitors only offer ASME/ASTM standards. Dimensions and imperial/US common unit sizes or limited metric size ring terminal products."

Molex's metric ring terminals meet UL requirements when crimped using Molex's recommended tools. However, these terminals can be crimped using a variety of industry standard tools. All terminals are made of high quality tin-plated oxygen-free copper to avoid oxidation and ensure high electrical conductivity and reliable crimping.

The non-insulated VersaKrimp ring terminal features a brazed joint to form a seamless tube that requires no special positioning during crimping and allows 360° to be rotated in the crimping slot for faster, more reliable crimping. The Avikrimp type ring terminal is pre-insulated with nylon on the tube to prevent arcing between adjacent terminals on the barrier strip. This tube has a nickel-plated copper hoop that can be used for conductor and insulation crimping (strain relief), provides optimum vibration resistance and meets TUV, VDE, IEC and DIN performance requirements. Avikrimp also allows rotation in crimp slots 360°.
