The winning students of the seven competitions have won the fruits. Lighting design advocates innovation, practicality and energy saving

In this year's luminaire creative design, judges and experts are interested in design works that are both innovative and practical.

Liang Hanfeng, general manager of Philips Lighting China, said: “Although these future engineers are still very young, their work impressed me. Good works should be truly innovative, easy to use, and able to meet the needs of consumers. I am very I like designs that improve people's lives."

In this regard, Jin Xinghua, deputy director of the Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Education Center, also believes that there must be a technical service bridge from science to life. Without technology, science cannot be transformed into concrete things. The competition is mainly for students to exercise their innovative spirit and hands-on ability through this platform.

In this competition, Philips, one of the organizers, actively promoted the use of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly LEDs as the light source for the creative design project. Liang Hanfeng said: "Why do we pay so much attention to the future development of LED? First, LEDs are more energy efficient than traditional light sources. Second, they are longer, third is small, and fourth is rich in color, which is convenient for innovation of lamps."

Philips and future engineers pay attention to classroom lighting

The “Classroom Lighting Status Survey and Energy-Efficient Lighting Creative Design” project in the competition became another highlight. Under the guidance of the teacher, students from 11 middle schools in Shanghai conducted on-the-spot investigations on the school lighting environment and proposed improvements to energy-saving innovation. In the end, Qibao Middle School won the championship with its simple and creative design.

Liang Hanfeng believes: "China is in rapid development and is faced with the problem of how to cope with the shortage of resources and energy consumption. It is gratifying that our future engineers are trying to solve these problems. Qibao Middle School proposed curtains to control the brightness of light and The idea of ​​dimming with sensors is very creative."
