The central finance urges the expansion of consumer consumers to receive timely subsidies for energy-saving appliances

In the first half of this year, China continued to implement a proactive fiscal policy and introduced a series of policy measures in expanding consumer demand and increasing spending power.

The reporter learned from the Ministry of Finance that following the implementation of financial subsidies for “home appliances to the countryside” and efficient lighting products and energy-saving vehicles, the central government has allocated 26.5 billion yuan in funds for air conditioners, flat-panel TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and water heaters that meet energy-saving standards. The five major categories of products are subsidized, and the amount of subsidies for each energy-saving appliance ranges from 70 to 600 yuan. From the recent situation, the sales of energy-saving products in some major sales outlets rose; consumers were able to receive subsidies in a timely manner; the adjustment of production structure of production companies was accelerated, and the proportion of energy-saving products production increased significantly.

This year, China reduced the tariffs on some imported goods. In 2012, China implemented a low tentative tariff rate on imports for more than 730 commodities, with an average tax rate of 4.4%, which was an average reduction of more than 50% relative to the MFN tariff rate.
