3.5 billion fiber optic cable project settled in Fengyang Si Industrial Park

On March 26th, Dongfang Light Source Group Co., Ltd. and China Yitong Holdings Co., Ltd. jointly invested 3.5 billion yuan in the most advanced fiber optic cable project in China and successfully settled in Fengyang Si Industrial Park. This is another major project that has succeeded in rushing to Fengyang since February this year following the 35 billion yuan China Aviation Sanxin Special Glass project and the 4 billion Chinese Zheshang (Fengyang) Industrial Park project. This project will break the technical blockade imposed on China by the international fiber giants and become a well-deserved optical fiber leader in China. At this point, the county has signed a contract of investment of 11 billion yuan within two months. Fengyang is rapidly entering the age of major investment and all-people services from the era of the people's investment.

The two major companies plan to invest 3.5 billion yuan in Fengyang, invest 600 million yuan, 2 billion yuan, and 900 million yuan in three phases in five years to build 1.3 square kilometers of quartz mining, high-purity quartz sand production, and infrared Optical fiber production as one of the optical fiber cable industry park. The first phase will begin in October 2011 and will be completed in December 2012. After the completion of the third phase of the project, it will form a production capacity of 2.5 million tons of quartz stone ore, 200,000 tons of high purity quartz, 200 tons of optical fiber preform and 6 million core kilometers of optical fiber. Not only meet the company's own fiber production needs, but also can solve the problem of high-end quartz powder dependent on imports. The international advanced technology used in this project can achieve large-scale production of optical fiber preforms, which will break the technical blockade imposed on China by the international fiber giants. After the completion of production, only optical fiber production can realize sales revenue of 1.5 billion yuan, making it a well-deserved optical fiber leader in China. In supporting industries, the project can not only bring direct investment of 3.5 billion yuan, but also stimulate an indirect matching investment of 12 billion yuan. The annual output value is nearly 10 billion yuan, and 5,000 jobs are created. It will further improve the comprehensive utilization of Fengyang quartz resources and increase the financing level of Fengyang, providing strong support for the development goal of the 100 billion yuan silicon (glass) industry.
