Alexa Linked iCloud Calendar: Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana Refused

OFweek Smart Home Network News According to Amazon announced yesterday, users can now synchronize their iCloud calendar information through devices that support Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant. Through this update, the user's orders or settings set to Alexa will be added to the iCloud calendar in sync. In addition, anything added on Amazon devices will also sync with iCloud, including calendar apps on iOS and macOS devices.

In response, Amazon responded that if users want to enjoy this service, they must add an Apple account to their Alexa iOS app "Settings." Once the Apple iCloud Calendar account is successfully linked with the Alexa application, the user can use the above service.

Amazon also said that the update will be open to Alexa users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany from now on, because these three countries are the representative areas that currently support Alexa's services.

With the addition of Apple's calendar, Alexa's device users can now use five calendar services, and the other four also include G Suite, Google/Gmail, Office 365 and Outlook.com services for Exchange Online Mail.

Currently, Amazon has more and more Alexa hardware devices, including Echo speakers, Echo Dots, Echo Look smart cameras and the new Echo Show. Of course, the Alexa app for iOS is currently in use.

In this case, Amazon and Apple's holding this hand undoubtedly threw a "small bomb" to Google Assistant and Microsoft Cortana.
