GE Lighting provides new technology T5 High Bay lighting systems for the Air Cargo Advanced Freight Center at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia. In this renovation project, 1470 sets of halide lamps in the freight building were replaced by GE's advanced energy-saving Hi-Beam T5 High Bay system.
The T5 High Bay system used in the Malaysian Air Cargo Advanced Freight Center includes: Hi-Beam Lighting T5HO high bay, GE ELBS and GE T5HO 47W Watt-Miser. This new lighting system boosts the illumination in the cargo building to 200 lux and improves light color uniformity. Because the GE T5 High Bay system has a longer service life than traditional tungsten halogen lamps and tubes, it avoids frequent maintenance and is a worry-free choice for customers.
The system significantly enhances the lighting level of the freight building and is ideal for industrial plants. In addition, both energy consumption and maintenance frequency are reduced, which will bring customers a cost savings of $300,000 per year. In addition, greater visibility and upgraded illumination ensure better overall security of the work environment. From an environmental point of view, energy savings are equivalent to reducing emissions of nearly 13,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, or equivalent to 3,380 acres of tree planting.
