Oculus Story Studio, a VR film studio, is continuing its exploration of VR movies. Their latest project will be presented at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21. Oculus Story Studio's latest book "Talking with Ghosts" contains four animated stories designed to immerse you in the comic world.
"Talking with Ghosts" contains four VR videos. Different artists are inspired by the love of comics by Oculus Story Studio. Although each film adopts a different style strategy, its purpose is to immerse the audience in the “comics worldâ€. The four works include:
Sophia Foster-Dimino's "Fairground": The two childhood playmates return to the old amusement park, and the two have conflicted interpretations of the past and the future.
· The Neighborhood of Roman Muradov: The story of ghosts and house tenants, from the beginning of time to the end of the universe.
· The Reservior by Ric Carrasquillo: A couple's dramatic event when playing one of the most fantastic mini golf games.
·Tattoo Warrior by Maria Yi: An epic story of war and love.
Talking with Ghosts is the latest project in Oculus Story Studio to explore VR storytelling. The studio previously developed the VR art app “Quill†and used this tool to create “Dear Angelica†directed by former Pixar artists Saschka Unseld and Wesley Allsbrook.
"Dear Angelica" and "Quill" not only brought new forms of film production, but also made the production of immersive VR videos more intuitive and convenient. Oculus Story Studio wrote in the blog post:
We believe that the best way to create a VR experience is to create in VR and not be affected by the tools of the past. We are very happy to share the latest results in Tribeca Film Festival to help inspire other artists.
We are still in the early stages of storytelling in VR. We can't wait to see what the VR film production community has done with Quill in the next few years.
After the Tribeca Film Festival debuts, Talking with Ghosts will launch the Oculus Store in the second half of this year.
