Taiwan's five-year NT$2.04 billion elementary and middle school luminaries will change to T5 or LED

In order to allow Taiwan's elementary and middle school students to have a better learning environment and achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction at the same time, the Ministry of Education will allocate 2.04 billion yuan (NTD, the same below) for the next 5 years, replacing the primary and secondary school lamps with energy-saving lamps. As for the exchange of T5 or LED, within a month will find related groups to meet.

According to Liao Shuangqing, secretary of the environmental protection team of the Ministry of Education, currently, Taiwan’s primary and secondary schools use about 60% of traditional lamps and lanterns, 86,776 classrooms, and the Ministry of Education counts 99 years. If we want to completely replace energy-efficient lighting fixtures, we need about 2.04 billion yuan.

Liao Shuangqing said that the Ministry of Education plans to replace the energy-saving lamps and lanterns within five years from next year. If we can secure a budget of 700 million yuan next year, we can benefit 1/3 of the schools that still use traditional lamps.

He said that before the teacher would recommend replacing the LED lights, but the medical profession believes that the quality of LED lights is uneven and may affect the vision of schoolchildren. However, the Ministry of Education has no objection to replacing T5 or LED lamps. In the near future, teachers, principals, parents' groups, county and municipal governments, experts and scholars will be invited to hold business meetings.

Liao Shuangqing also stated that if Taipower cancels the electricity price concessions for schools next year, it will be estimated that the number of medium and small countries will increase by 700 million yuan in one year. The Ministry of Education will then coordinate with Taipower and hope to maintain the existing electricity prices.

He also said that the Ministry of Education has actively promoted “four provinces special projects” such as water saving, electricity saving, fuel saving, and paper saving. During the period from 96 years to 100 years, cumulative electricity consumption has decreased by 4.4%, oil consumption has decreased by 11.73%, and water consumption has decreased by 9.28%. It is equivalent to reducing 118 carbon intakes in Daan Forest Park.
