Two development boards are now available to unlock your advanced new system design
Recently, Xilinx announced that the 20nm Kintex UltraScale FPGA, the KU040 chip, has been in production, which is Xilinx's first All Programmable 20nm device - actually the industry's number one. A 20nm programmable logic device – entering the mass production stage, this 20nm Kintex UltraScale KU040 FPGA contains 424,200 logic cells, 21.1Mbit BRAM (Block RAM) memory, and 1,920 DSP48E2 slices (see "UltraScale DSP48E2: Per The chip contains more DSP processing units"), three PCIe Gen3/Gen4 integrated hardened IP cores, 20 GTH 16Gbps SerDes transceivers, and 520 I/O pins.
Although it is the second-largest member of the Kintex UltraScale FPGA family of chips, the 20nm Kintex UltraScale KU040 FPGA provides system designers with more on-chip resources. In the more power-hungry 7-series product line, this new FPGA The chip offers more design resources than most of the Kintex-7 family of FPGA chips. The largest KintexUltraScale FPGA chip, the KU115, provides almost three times the on-chip resources: 1,160,880 logic cells; 75.9 Mbit BRAM; 5,520 DSP slices; six PCIe IP blocks and 64 GTH SerDes transceivers.
There are currently two development boards based on the Kintex UltraScale KU040 FPGA chip that you can use to design new systems. The two development platforms are: KCU105 Evaluation Kit and KCU1250 Transceiver Kit. The KCU105 Evaluation Development Board includes the following resources:
KintexUltraScale XCKU040 All Pramgrammable Device System Controller Based on Zynq 7010
2GB DDR4 SDRAM
256Mbit dual port QSPI Flash memory
Micro SD interface
USB JTAG interface, Digilent module with micro-B USB connection
20 GTH transceivers (8 with FMC HPC interface, 1 with FMC LPC interface, 8 with PCIe interface, two with SFP+ optical transceiver socket, and one TX/RX interface from SMA connector)
Ethernet interface PHY
HDMI port
I2C port
The following is a description of the system module of the KCU105 board:

Similarly, we can note that the KintexUltraScale device is part of Xilinx's mid-range 20nm process product family. The first Virtex UltraScale FPGA device with the highest level of 20nm product technology was introduced earlier this year.
