Large-scale TV retail sales will increase

With the continuous improvement of panel technology, television manufacturers are intensively arranging in the 60-inch and larger TV market, and the high-end and large-size products are used as profit growth points. This industry trend coincides with consumer demand and becomes a hot spot in the TV market.

According to the statistics of Yikang, a third-party survey agency, it is estimated that in 2013, retail sales of large-size (50-inch or more) TVs will account for approximately 15%, and retail sales will account for 30%. The market share of large-size TVs will increase by 3%-4% over 2012. In 2012, the 60-inch or larger large-screen TVs created a 62.03% annual growth miracle.

The rapid growth of the large-size market benefits from the joint promotion of the entire industry chain. Not only foreign brands such as Sony will load the functions of smart TVs onto large-size TVs, but in 2013 domestic color TV manufacturers will also strive to produce TVs with more than 60 inches of color TV. With the continuous improvement of panel processing technology, it also triggered the butterfly effect in the terminal market. In 2012, the global color TV giants launched large-size 4K ultra-high-definition television products, making it a new product among manufacturers after 3D and smart TVs.

According to the forecast data of DisplaySearch, in 2012, the shipment of 4K×2K LCD TVs will reach more than 4,000 units, and in 2016, 4K×2K LCD TVs will grow to approximately 5 million units.

In fact, large-size AMOLED TVs have been difficult to produce for a long time, providing a good opportunity for 4K TVs to seize the market. South Korea’s Samsung and LG did not abandon the promotion of ultra-high-definition TV while developing large-size AMOLED technology; Japan’s Sony is also trying to integrate the 4K industry chain and seek a road to recovery. Relevant person in charge of the Chinese medicine and health said that in the large-size 55-inch market, Sony's products are becoming leading brands in the large-size market.
