Under the dual pressures of the current natural environment and economic environment, reducing energy consumption is not only a manifestation of the social responsibilities of retail companies, but also an objective requirement for companies to reduce operating costs and increase profits. Dr. Zhang Wei from the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University introduced: “The research project will last for 3 months. The survey will cover 34 regions across the country, including 1,120 retail buildings, covering department stores, hypermarkets, general supermarkets, convenience stores, etc. This is a typical retail building.” This survey and survey cover a wide area and has a long duration. It can be considered as a comprehensive consultation on the energy saving of architectural lighting in China's retail industry.

In this research activity, Mitsuo Aurora and the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University are responsible for the preliminary data investigation and integration work.
