In many daily designs, we must catch the user's attention and determine whether it is because of being liked or hated. Yulio Technolgies added a new Eye Tracking tool in Virtual Reality (VR) that combines eye tracking with the user's experience and displays it in a form similar to thermal imaging.
Thermal mapping has previously been attempted as an alternative to mouse movement, and the principle is to move the mouse pointer to the area of greatest concern to the user. Thermal mapping plus gaze tracking allows researchers to collect more accurate images. Because 360-degree video allows users to explore the surrounding environment as much as possible, detecting where the user is watching, and how high the attention there is, the behavior and interest of the audience can be better reflected.
In design, architecture and retail, being able to accurately track viewers' attention is the key to creating functional designs. At the same time taking into account the user's line of sight and branding and other factors, it also helps to collect user feedback. Yulio's new tools allow designers to know if their focus is on the user's design, and which parts will be icing on the cake or overwhelming.
Yulio said that the technology allows architects, interior designers, and construction companies, among others, to convert 2D designs (such as Sketchup, Revit, or 3DSMax) created in CAD programs into VR experiences, and then use the Yulio cloud-based platform for analysis.
