Apple CEO Tim Cook believes that no industry will be affected by Augmented Reality (AR) in the future. In a recent interview with Vogue, the company said that this technology will change everything from fashion shows to shopping: "Imagine a T-AR application where you can see the model from all angles (not just from the front). In order to cater to the wider online consumer audience, this will be even more important for the Taiwan TV show."

Apple envisions a future world where consumers can “point and buy†in an AR environment.
For example, if you see a friend wearing a pair of shoes that he likes the most, just take out the iPhone and immediately pop up the shopping app and list the details so that you can place an order online.
Some retailers have already launched augmented reality applications based on the new ARKit platform on iOS 11, such as IKEA's "IKEA Place." The app allows users to see how furniture looks in a virtual home environment, covering a full-size model from sofas, armchairs, footstools, and coffee tables.

Although current AR applications are still at a very early stage, Cook believes that for major brands, the augmented reality experience will sooner or later become as important as having a portal.
As shown above, in another earlier ARKit demo, the girl was able to virtually experiment with various styles of lip gloss and choose their favorite color. In the video below, users can view and compare different digital makeup effects.
Finally, Cooke also stated that the technology of augmented reality glasses is still insufficient in quality. It can be inferred that the legendary Apple smart glasses device is unlikely to be launched in the near future.
