The stall prevention function of the inverter includes two aspects:
1. During the acceleration process: (1) If the preset time is too short, it is easy to trip due to overcurrent. (2) The acceleration time is too long, which will affect the operating efficiency of the machine. Moreover, the working conditions of the production machine also change from time to time, which brings difficulties to the user in the preset "acceleration time", and it is difficult to quickly preset the just right. When the inverter has an overcurrent during the acceleration process, it can start the “trip prevention” program (also called self-processing program) without having to trip. The specific method is: if the current exceeds the preset upper limit value (ie, the maximum allowable value of the acceleration current) during the acceleration process, the output frequency of the inverter will not increase, the acceleration will be temporarily suspended, and the current will fall below the upper limit value. Then continue to accelerate.
2. During the deceleration process: For a load with large inertia, if the deceleration time is preset too short, the overcurrent of the DC link will be caused by the function of the drag system being released too fast. If the DC voltage exceeds the upper limit during the deceleration process (ie, the maximum allowable DC voltage), the output frequency of the inverter will not drop any more, delay the deceleration, and continue to decelerate after the DC voltage drops below the set value. We often refer to this function as a stall prevention function.
