The Apple A11 Bionic chip uses a 2+4 core architecture, two high-performance cores and four high-performance cores. However, GeekBench 4 is a cross-platform running software. Therefore, the A11 that dominates the running score can basically be considered to be better than the Kirin 970, but the gap may not be as large as the number.
GPU performance: Apple's self-developed GPU should not be underestimated
Another highlight of the Apple A11 chip is the first use of Apple's self-developed three-core GPU. However, Apple did not announce the specific model of the GPU, but according to the test, the performance has reached the level of A9X, and the graphics performance is terrible.

Signal baseband: Huawei leads one
Huawei is indeed very radical this time in the support of the network baseband. The Kirin 970 first launched the 4.5G LTE baseband with a download speed of 1.2Gbps. Even the Qualcomm, which is the most advanced network baseband, failed to use the Cat.18 network baseband in this year's Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, and Huawei did.
But Apple did not mention what the baseband of the A11 chip is. However, there was news before that the A11 used the baseband provided by Intel, and also said that the production progress of the A11 chip was dragged down by Intel's baseband.
Currently available for inquiry, the Apple A11 should use the Intel XMM 7480 baseband. However, it can only support 450Mbps speed, which is far from the Qualcomm X12/X20, not to mention Huawei's baseband.
