InvenSense, a subsidiary of the TDK Group, introduces the ICP-10100 MEMS capacitive air pressure sensor. With the industry's lowest pressure noise and power consumption, and excellent temperature stability, the ICP-10100 is ideal for applications such as drones, mobile devices, Internet of Things (IoT) and wearables.
The InvenSense ICP-10100 single-axis pressure sensor has the industry's lowest pressure noise of 0.4 Pa RMS and an ultra-low power consumption of 1.3 μA at 1 Hz. The miniature MEMS sensor measures a fine pressure difference of ±1 Pa, enabling the device to detect height changes of less than 5 cm, and provides a full pressure operating range of 30 to 110 kPa, with a temperature coefficient of ±0.5 Pa per degree Celsius ensuring Excellent temperature stability.
The ICP-10100 pressure sensor features an embedded temperature sensor and a 400 kHz I2C bus for communication. It operates in a low power mode of 1.3 μA in a 3.2Pa noise environment with a low noise mode of 0.8 Pa for high performance applications. The power consumption is only 5.2 μA. The device is small, only 2 mm × 2 mm × 0.72 mm, and has an IPX8 enclosure rating and can be used for up to 30 minutes at 1.5m depth.
This sensor can be evaluated with the DK-10100 SmartMotion Platform Development Kit. The kit comes with a Microchip G55 microcontroller and comes with the required software, including the GUI-based development tool InvenSense MotionLink and the embedded motion driver (eMD) for the ICP-10100. The DK-10100 features an on-board embedded debugger that allows programming or debugging of G55 microcontrollers without the need for external tools.
